    Big Agnes Fly Creek UL1

Just got my Fly Creek UL1 from the UPS man today.. This thing is sweet! And even lighter than I imagined. This tent will be more than enough room for me, and my pack in the vestibule. Granted, I'm not a big guy, but I think any averaged sized guy could fit in in, and just about sit up in it. I can't wait to get out and try it out.

I bought the 2 man version and it is awesome. Good choice for a tent.
A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work.

I also bought the two man version. I needed something a little bigger for myself and my gear.

I have the UL2 and the UL3. Love them both. Prefer the UL2 when solo, as I can keep my pack in the tent, not just the vestibule. The UL3 is perfect for two people. Great, lightweight tents.

Finally getting around to posting my analysis of the tent. I used it for 9 straight nights above 10,000 feet in Colorado, Sept 1st through the 9th. It rained on us a few of the nights, but I never got wet, and never had any condensation issues. average temperature at night was somewhere between 35-40 degrees (roughly). Any colder, and I may have had some slight condensation issues. The tent did excelent the few nights that we had decently high winds, no flapping or anything to keep me awake all night.

The tent is an absolute breeze to set up, and fits perfectly in one of the side pockets of my Blue Widow (mixed reviews on this pack). It's so lightweight (as is my bag and pad), that moving forward, with this setup, I will always keep it packed, and camp wherever I end up, instead of hiking back to the tent.

Originally, I thought that the size would be great, since I'm only about 5'6, but I found the tent to be a little small for my liking. The vestibule was just large enough to keep my pack and boots dry. I feel as though the back end of the tent is just a little too narrow, and if you got into some serious weather, you could end up with a wet bag, as it's a little difficult to stay off of the sides of the tent. There was plenty of room at the head of the tent for me and some smaller gear (mostly stuff I kept in my pockets, and my stove and pot, water, etc..), and I could just barely sit up in it to eat dinner one night that it rained.

Overall, I'd give the tent a 9/10, and I give my buddies UL2 a 10/10. I only wish mine was slightly larger.

The difference in weight between the UL1 and UL2 is minimal, and the increase in comfort great. You nailed it, the UL2 is a far superior tent. Not sure I want two people in my UL2, but in the unlikely event some sweet young Godess shows up at my wilderness campsite I will try to make room.

Agree wholeheartedly. He had room to spare in his UL2. The only way 2 people is fitting in my UL1 is if they are stacked on top of each other. Bring it on sweet young Goddesses!
