anyone familiar with units 40 and 42? how much private land will i run into when i get there? ill do some scouting for sure but allways best to go in with an idea, thanks!

Looks like less than 20% private, mostly BLM with some state land. A lot of public land there. Good luck!

I drew a unit 40 archery buck tag last year. I saw a herd of elk in one canyon that had 4 bulls over 350. The herd was 200 strong. There is access to the land between 2 private parcels, but extremely hard to find the atv trail unless u spend a lot of time in this area.

Musket man, check out Slack mt. Around juniper mt. On your map, Find a vantage point and glue your spotting scope to your eyes. You'll see some big bucks.
