I work about 15 miles from the fire and the smoke has really been affecting the area. We're ready for this to be over but it could be a while. The beetle kill is very extensive in this area providing tons of fuel. I'm glad they are getting a grip on this one. Thanks to all the firefighters trying to get this beast under control!
Any updates? Was looking at area for late september if it is still there.
Fire burned a little over 64,000 acres and as of now is 87% contained. It will be monitored thru the summer. Some of that are got burned really bad taking all of the vegetaion. Dont know exactlly where that happened.
Really hope its gets alot of rain between now and end of september. Anyone ever hunted this area? Unit 102-103 I believe.
So sad but you have to look at the bright side of things when they are so bad. There will be some awesome feed in the next few years and we will be hearing a lot of stories of big animals taken on all of these burned areas. Co. Included
