Region H mulie hunt

I have been drawn for my first DIY Wyoming mule deer hunt this year in Region H. I was looking at going in units 142, 152 (south of the Highway), 153, or 138 east of Boulder. I am driving down to do some scouting for about 3-4 days in August. I was just hoping someone could point me in a good direction to get started or give me some pointers or advice. Also do landowners in these areas let people hunt if they stop in and talk to them or do they get frustrated with hunters asking like they do here in North Dakota? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stick to the national forest. You shouldn't have to worry much about landowners. Just my two cents and good luck!

I planned on the forest unfortunately a guy can't go into the wilderness, but oh well. I just worry about seeing alot of other hunters in certain areas.

Thanks NDHunter. I have bought several BLM maps and have researched so much I think I have found every website and speck of information on the web. I am actually pretty excited since this is my first out of state hunt and it should be fun and tough. My dad got drawn as well and he is 60 years young and he said this is going to be his first and his last out of state mountain hunt. I just hope that I can get him on a decent buck.

In wyoming you will see plenty of hunters no matter where you go in H or G especially the first week of the hunt. Wilderness is overrated imo. Sticking with it no matter what is the key to getting your deer.

I was wondering about the lower lands. They kind of look like the badlands of North Dakota. Do they get overlooked? Should I focus on these lower lands instead or stick to the foothills? Thanks
