I drew a 38-1 rifle tag and am working to gather information. I have heard there can be major issues with access to large portions of the Unit due to snow and the roads there are often closed by the Forest Service. I had one person tell me that although roads are closed to vehicles, ATV's are allowed. Does anyone know if this is true? Don't know if I can convince the boss that I need to buy an ATV.

Any other help or tips on the unit would be greatly appreciated. Hope to get out there and scout at least once. But, it is not easy cost-wise from California.
