I snuck up to about 8 yards on this buck in Nevada after he bedded. I got impatient as I had just a short trip. I should never have gotten that close. I threw rocks until my wrist hurt. I could see his antlers bobbing with his breath and he never turned his head. Eventually the wind swirled and he blew out with my bow undrawn

I think deer in rocky areas are used to hearing rocks roll and fall. Should of beaned him in the head with a rock ! Nice buck !

I've had that not work! Should have waited got the buck which was bedded to stand.
