I assume most people hang there things in a bear bag while hunting in the backcountry. I was wondering what people use as there bag and how far do they hang there things from camp? Do you burn your trash or do you just put it back in the bag? Do you hang your things between 2 trees? This is my first backcountry Elk hunt and just getting my final items to pack in.

Not a stupid question!! I usually try to burn as much stuff as I can but obviously there's stuff that you cant burn. My dad used to hang the stuff just real high in one tree a little ways from camp
