Region H Wyoming Grizzly Bears

I am hunting mule deer in region H this year and was wondering if anyone had any info on how the grizzlies are south of Jackson. I plan on taking pepper spray and a .357 Magnum JUST IN CASE!!

Better to be prepared than not be. I know people that have ran into them in the area and heard story's about them being around. I personnaly wouldn't be surprised if you would run into one but I'd say it's unlikely. Always better to be prepared, I hunt the same area and always go in knowing it could be a possibility.

I figure the time I go out without any close range protection is when I would run smack into one. Good luck to you. This is my first time and I'm not really sure what to expect, but I supposed that is what makes it pretty exciting.

Grizzlies are more prevalant now than ever before, it's wise to take some form of defense and to be extra cautious. I have seen one bear this year and had one trapped and killed by the F&G a block from my house this spring. Heard of several sightings, and of course a rifle shot is like a dinner bell to the bears, happy hunting!

Bugle magazine had a good article this month about hunting around grizzlies. Apparently in a big study looking at grizzly encounters, bear spray was far more effective than a firearm. I would definitely have some with and ready to use.

I got spray but dont have a pistol for bear although i want a Glock 20 10mm

We just got back from that area and didnt see or hear of any bears. I personally have never ran across one, but rumors are they are in the area.

Chicken, did you get anything? I just got back as well and didn't very many deer. I only had opportunity to shoot a forkie but passed to let him grow up. I think total we saw maybe 20 deer total. My dad shot a 4 on one side and just a main beam on the other. I sure was tough hunting!!

Actually, we did pretty well and tagged out with 3 bucks, one of which was really nice. Didnt see many deer though, probably in the 12-15 count total for alll of us. Pretty tough hunting, but we did do ok for ourselves.
