    CO Archery Elk Hunting Buddy

NC hunter coming out to CO to hunt archery elk in Sept. My hunting buddy can't get off work this time so looking for some company.

I'm 58, in pretty good shape. Shot lots of deer but new to elk. Easy to get along with, non-drinker, Christian, looking to hunt for a week from tent base camp or backpack in. Must be a unit with OTC either-sex tags.

If I could swing it I would go, kids in College are eating up most of my xtra $$$$ this year lol Last year I hunted the 3rd rifle season West Slope and it was like the Orange army attacked my position, I'm definately not doing that again... I think Archery is the ticket of light to non hunting pressure from the mob.....

    Four ways to reduce pressure

    1) get lots of PPs for a highly limited unit
    2) hike in at least a mile or two off the road or better yet, backpack in way off the road
    3) go archery season
    4) pay up to hunt private land
