    ultralight tripod head

I have a Promaster 525T tripod and 6160 head that I really like for times when I plan to really use them. This head is pretty smooth and works very well for me. I was thinking though of getting a real lightweight head, maybe a ball head, for times when I don't plan to use the tripod much. I could get by without the smooth panning when I'm just using the spotter for judging game and not finding it. The 6160 head weighs right at 1lb with it's QA mount, anything much lighter I should look at?

    Thanks for your help.

Try the Outdoorsmans panhead. 10oz of machined beauty. Love the separate locks on pan and tilt functions. Overall, very elegant. Check it out at www.outdoorsmans.com.
