    Elk in Velvet

Saw these two in RMNP a little over a week ago. The close ups were shot through the spotting scope, so not the best.

Is it possible for the bulls to still have velvet??? I seen a really nice bull while scouting the unit I will be hunting in a few weeks, he was by himself and it was a ways off but I could swear he was still in full velvet...

It is possible! There are still some bulls that haven't shed all the way yet.
