Archery Hunts for California

I have recently regained my want to archery hunt by buying a new bow this year. I have 1 preference point in california and am now wondering whats the best hunt in California for bow without waiting 8 years to hunt a premium area.

I was thinking A20 or A16? Any suggestions on broad areas or other zones that I may have a chance at?

I dont know the archery code for x8, but you could pull that "premium" tag every year. It gets a fairly bad rap, but ive seen some great bucks in there.
