I am in Central California (Merced) and need to find a quality gunsmith. The guy I used in the past retired. Does anyone know of someone in this area they trust?

Do you want one in state, or out of state. The one in state is in Nevada City, north of Sac. Jack Huntington Gunsmithing. 530-268-6877. I have used him to build up my Rem 700. Just got it back have not had a chance to shoot it yet. He comes highly recomended. The other guy, Kevin Cram. He owns Montour County rifles. He comes VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMENDED. The only reason I didn't go with him, was he was way back loged. 570-437-2010. If time were not an issue and you don't mind shipping your rifle to the east coast, go with him.

Just sent mine to Straight Shooter Supply in North Bend Oregon.
Nice guy and quick turnaround.
Depends on what you want done as to who to send it to. UPS is more convenient than driving all over the country.
