    hunting travel partner

I have been doing research for a year i guess now for a Wyoming antelope hunt. And i have yet to find anyone in my area that wants to do a hunt like this. Im not really looking for someone to hunt with all the time just a travel partner and a camp partner. Dont half to hunt together. I live in east TN i realize Wyoming is a long way off and a lot of gas. Maybe im just on a rant. I would not care to do it by myself but just trying to save some on travel expense. Im not giving up though.

A lot of people from the Midwest act like deer and turkey hunting is the only thing to do,and I am from the Midwest and wish I lived closer to the mountains.

What area are you wanting to hunt? I might be interested in sharing a camp but I live in California so traveling together would be difficult.

I live in southeast Alabama and I have the same problem. I've been on 4 hunts out west and 3 have been solo. I always have people that say "I would love to go" and "count me in" but at the end of the day they aren't disciplined enough to save the money or vacation time. I was going to go on a DIY elk hunt this year, but of course the 2 guys that were going with me have backed out when I told them we needed to buy our tags and gear needed. I put in a lot of hours researching OTC units, pouring over maps, etc. It's frustrating but that's life I guess! That's my rant for the day.

When are you planning on going? Do you have a tag for this year or are you asking for next year? Archery or rifle?

Is this where I say me too? They all say they want to go right up to the point where you have to apply for tags. So you tell 'em to buy a preference point and go next year. Never happens. Solo here too again, Colorado elk 6 then Wyoming pronghorn 21. Gonna love it.

I try to go to Wyoming for pronghorns every year, I have done it both ways, sometimes a couple hundred extra on gas is well spent! I would be open to sharing a camp and expenses, how many p-points do you have?

Not much different even if you live out here. I moved to Wyoming from SD 3 1/2 years ago. Everyone I talk to either doesn't hunt, or won't disclose any information or invite you along. I've hunted alone and had to find places to go on my own since I moved here.
