What is the elk population like around Wagontire Oregon?
Very, very, very, very, very few
The human population varies between 0 and 2 people in wagontire. There are more people than elk though. Go north

I have been hunting for sagerats, rabbits, and coyote in Wagontire for 8 years and I have only seen one elk. It was a nice bull but it is not worth your time. Antelope is another story. Lots of antelope. I know the owner of Wagontire. He has leased the town out to different people over the years. The current tenants are taking good care of the old place. I would look at the Pualina or Silvies units if you want to hunt in that general area. Don't forget about the Cowboy Dinner Tree.

Thank you for the replies, what is the Cowboy Dinner Tree?
I usually hunt in the strawberry wilderness area, but was driving through wagontire and had heard their were elk around that area. The reason I was wondering is I would love to hunt juniper and sage areas for elk.I am an archery hunter.
