I saw some late rut activity watching a couple a groups of elk in the Salmon area last weekend. A few bugles and the bulls weren't chasing the cows much. With the 6 or 7 bulls around, only heard 2 bulls and that was early. Seems like the rut is about over in that area.

Things are running later too here in NV. Early to mid September not much activity, then things are hot and heavy toward the last couple weeks and carries on into October for quite a while. Seasons are changing for some reason.

Ditto for MT. Can't wait to kill a big bull on Saturday here in central MT!
