I am away from home working. Have been for 2 months. All my rifle buddies are 2,000 miles away so I guess you guys will do just fine. I also absolutely love discussing rifles...
In my 1st post I neglected an extremely accurate out of the box rifle of mine, gettin' old and forgetful. The rifle is a Model 70 Stealth 2. It may very well be the most accurate rifle I'll ever own, anytime a .22-250 can put 5 in row in the same hole I'm impressed. There's never been anything done to it and groups that you can't cover with a dime are disappointing. I surely don't deserve it but it's mine, bought on a whim a couple years ago.

Personally I like a little steel out in front of my stocks, never really interested in full lenght stocks.......just my preference.

There is a wierd kiplauf (break action single shot) that Hallowells in Livingston Montana has, and it's got just a bit of barrel past the wood.

    Very long forend. Wierd looking.

It's wierd all the way around, wierd caliber, wierd stock. Rennet I think is the name of the maker.

My dream rifle should be coming together shortly. I want it to be light as possible and still maintain the accuracy of the heavy 40lb bench rifles. I'm still young and can tote 7-10lb rifles anywhere I need to go, but I know at some point that won't be the case. With that said, I'd like this rifle, in the Titanium Strata in 270wsm or 280AI.

My next custom is going to be a titanium action in a carbon Manners stock with a fluted #4 barrel. Probably in a 300 RUM.
