I was thinking of the western comedian Baxter Black, it was either him or Waddie Mitchell that had a "Udder Pandamonium" poem.

It all depends on jobs at least for a couple years. I like NW Montana, I like SW but not Dillon as a town. A really neat town if you don't need a job is Phillipsburg, Montana.

Deer Lodge where I went to high school is a methtown now.

I would not recommend Washington. I like eastern Wa well enough but the trouble with Wa is the west side has all the votes and those if us on the east side really dont have much say in anything. Also Wa has alot of higher taxes then most states (even worse then california). Wa also does a poor job at best of managing its wildlife. I rarely even hunt here. Im very close to Idaho and honestly I wish I lived on the other side of the border.

    Musket Man,

I feel your pain, I used to live in Whidbey Island, and while it's one of the most beautiful places I have ever lived the politics suck.

We had a lot of blacktails on our island though.

All you gotta do is a turnkey purchase of my place in Southern Colorado. Leave the truck sit, walk to elk, deer, and bear. Jut get a knife sharpener.

I don't know how much of a gun nut you are, but in 1997 they had 30 Dakota rifles, about 30 Krieghoff shotguns and double rifles in stock, and over 15 Beretta EEOO shotguns. Plus a couple hundred Weatherby Mark Vs, and pallets of M700, M77, M70 rifles.

Biggest by volume gunshop I have ever been in.

Kittery Trading post in Maine was the 2nd biggest, on total number of guns.

One of those Dallas based Bass Pro shops or Cabelas would be the biggest gun shop I have ever been in. And they are the biggest outdoor stores in the world. At least I think they are the biggest of both of their respective chains stores.

You know what they say everything is bigger in Texas, as they never speak of Alaska which is almost 3 times as big.

And they never talk about the Parker Ranch of Hawaii which is bigger than the King Ranch.

And Texas doesn't have the most people, that's California.

Or the highest mountains, as they only go to 10,000 feet.

Or the prettiest girls, that's one of those mid-western states like Minnesota.

Or the best BBQ, that's Chicago or Tennessee.

Or the best Mexican food, that's New Mexico or California (hello Hatch Green chilies).

Or the biggest whitetail deer, that's Saskatchewan, Alberta, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa and Indiana.

Or the most coastline, that's Alaska followed by California.

They do have this catchy tune by Tracy Byrd.

There's never been a Texan who's ever been outdone
He'll outbig the biggest for spite or for fun
He's got bigger tractors and bigger trucks
Bigger and of course bigger bucks

But pride is the biggest thing in Texas
It's the only thing bigger than the land that we love
And we got big down to the letter, we ain't saying we're no better
It just seems like out in Texas there's more to be proud of

Broke or broken won't show in his eyes
He'll never back down and he'll never say die
See he's naturally a Texan the day he is born

If you can't love it or fight it
Rope it or ride it, shoot it or sip it
What the hell good is it
