    First Elk!

Here is a picture of my first elk on my first elk hunt. Shot him down in New Mexico on the first afternoon of season and it was an awesome day. I had done a lot of practicing shooting my rifle out to longer distances and then ended up shooting him at no more than 50 yards in the aspens. I had lugged the bogpod around all dang day all over the mountain and then used my knee for a rest as it all happened pretty fast. The second picture was taken about 30 minutes after I had shot my bull. I was busy gutting out my bull and heard some elk coming so I grabbed the camera and it turned out to be a cool picture. Now I have to wait a whole year to try it again!

Beautiful bull NDHunter! Congratulations. I'm envious, I've never hunted elk myself but when I do, a bull like that one would suit me just fine!

Great job! The only problem is, now you have been bitten by the wapiti bug.
