    Two for Two!

It took 11 days in a tent living with snow, wind, rain and 9 days of hunting from dark to dark. we got this elk on the last afternoon of the last day. Jarbidge Wilderness. 5 bulls together. only one decent bull before that20121120_272.jpg20121120_272.jpg. I have never hunted so hard for so long. We started out hunting one drainage over and hiked 3-4 hours to the top every day. I owe it all to my friend who accompanied me to help scout. without him it would not have happened.
We only had the horses to bring the elk out the rest of time we hunted on foot. This was a DIY hunt on public land.

thank you all. for an old prick like me it was sooo satisfying. the good thing was we only saw two other vehicles in 10 days, the sad thing was we watched them hike up the mountain for about 15-30 minutes and then turn back.I'm afraid we have a very sad group of hunters out there that do not know what it is all about. I hope I am am wrong.
