Archery hunt in unit 55 CO, fossil ridge wilderness area

Going to hunt there this year. never hunted this area before. other than the normal stuff. Anybody have any comments. They say its steep and rough, thats why we're going there. Anybody know what kind of winter kill they had there this year? If any. Please comment. Thanks

I hunted this unit last yr up pearl pass rd just south of Crested butte. Good hunt but didnt kill. Was in elk most days. There were quite a few people hunting and most indicated they weren't hearing or seeing much. Terrain is very difficult at best. Steep!! The road we were on you need a 4 wheeler to get up and down it.

Did you access by 4- wheeler? Would you think of going back ? Hope I'm not being too nosey, just trying to get some general info on the area. The terrain is kinda why we were gonna go there, hoping to get away from some people. Thanks.
