If you look at 3 day guided hunt prices, $1500 isn't that far off. Jeepers!

Thats no joke. I own property in Calhoun, about 3 miles south of the pike county line. I'm surrounded by outfitters, and I know the one leases the 80 acre property to the north of me for $75 acres. I'm sure a large tract of land in pike would bring that. Outfitters are doing the leases, not your avarage Joe. Outfitters in this area get $4500 for a 3 day whitetail gun hunt so it doesn't take long to recoup their investment. Why on earth someone would drop that kind of coin on a whitetail hunt is beyond me. For that kind of money, you can hire a good guide out west that will pack string you into wilderness areas, hunt for 6 days and haul you and your meat out for that much.
That is insanely high for a whitetail hunt. $4,500 would get you a minimum of 7 days in my neck of the woods, and we probably kill just as many 140 type bucks as Pike County does.. We just aren't known for the truely top end deer that Pike is.. Even though I know of two 200 inch whities shot out of my county.
Haha, well, no.. It's more of a 40x60 Morton building, with a framed in living quarters and bunk house. I guess it'll have to work!
Thanks for the info guys, please keep the replies coming.
