General season tag?

Can you apply for a general season tag without loosing your preference points?

I think the draw was 98% with one point last year. So the answer is no but that's something you could check very easily.

Any successful first choice generates the loss of points. You should be able to draw the general tag as a second choice in the special draw.

Apply for GEN as 2nd choice in the Special draw and you'll get the tag and not use your points. Pick a 5% unit you wouldn't mind hunting in case you draw, and you'll be hunting in 2013.
That's the only way to guarantee a GEN tag and keep your points.

Just talked to DOW & they do not have stats on 2nd choice general season draw odds. Does anyone have any idea what the draw odds are for a 2nd choice general tag under the special draw?

The general tag in the special draw was 100% last year

get special and regular, pref point and random
PP is 1st choice only, but everybody is included. even 0 point guys
random is with a new number, not ranked by points and your 1st choice carries over from the PP draw. So, all 1st choices are gone thru before they get to 2nd choices.
