This is a dead head buck we found a few years back that was a mt lion kill. My buddy decided to mount it. The taxi still has to stain the horns but its turning out nice. There was another smaller buck with this one partially buried.![]()

That's a great looking buck and I'm glad you decided to get it mounted. Nice way to honor it and remember it. I like how it shows the musculature and detail - looks like a real stud.
Too bad that buck didn't hook the mountain lion with one of his cheater points. Might have saved the buck's life and maybe we'd be looking at a mountain lion mount with a chunk of antler stuck in it's skull!!

Looks like a nice mount and with those antlers rejuvenated it will look very nice. Those mountain lions amaze me in being able to bring done big animals like that.

Good looking deer. Always hate finding a nice rack that way.

The taxidermist did a good job with the neck and the muscle groups on his shoulder. I like that look.

Good looking buck, definitely too bad how his life ended. I have come across a few kills as well, nothing that nice though. I too like how the taxi got the muscle groups looking, never seen that before.

Thanks. I was kinda thinking he over did it a bit this time on the shoulder but its not done yet. The clay isn't even close to dry yet. I'll post a few more when it's complete and on the wall.
