    Leftover tags

    Anyone ever have any luck getting left over general tags for wy? Was really planning on going back this year if possible but only hope is leftover.

    No such thing as leftover general tags for elk.

    The leftovers are gender and unit specific. (ES or cow/calf)

    Well that sucks. Thanks for heads up. So it's for individual units?

    Yep, and it will be mostly cow tags and maybe a few difficult to access bull tag areas.

    You can do some data mining and see watch the leftover tag list. But as mentioned, if an individual unit has leftovers for a bull, there usually is a reason. It can be access issues (aka a ton of private land), predator issues causing lower #'s, wilderness (which a NR cannot hunt w/o guide), etc.

    I have eyed Leftover tags, and I have looked at one under subscribed unit in the past. There may be an elk or two, but it also was rugged as all get out and had plenty of critters with big teeth and claws.

    I think it is July. They don't issue anything until the resident draw if over.

    Correct, it does come out in July!
