    Question Moon Phases November 2013

I'm looking for some opinions on when to hunt this November. I hunt private property north of Craig, Colorado on the Utah border and I can hunt from November the 4th till the end of November, any five consecutive days. It looks to me like the moon is going to be full during the rut so I am wondering what ya'll would do? Should I hunt the first week when it is the darkest or should I gamble and hunt the rut during unfriendly moon phases? Any info/opinions would be appreciated.

I like the moon on the 3rd rifle season this year (November 2-10) and plan to burn my points.

My feelings are that the rut trumps the moon if that is the choice. If I could pick any dates though, I'd lean to hunting late November rather than earlier. Sometimes on the early November hunt, you can get tee shirt weather and no snow, and you'll have better chance for snow late. Have you considered hunting the last week of November, since you will be out of the full moon?

Hunt the full moon. The November full moon breaks all rules. Some old timer told me this years ago and now for the last 6 years my deer has been harvested on that week. 3 days before and 3 days after, so the week of basically.

I can't imagine any time in November not being good. Here in Oregon there are VERY few Mule deer hunts past Oct 9th in 2013. I'm certain your hunt will be a good one no matter when you decide to go, have fun!
