What do you look for in a bullet?

I'm curious on folks thoughts on bullet attributes.

Do you prefer a bullet that holds their weight retention? Spread out and create alot of damage? High bc? What do you guys think?

High weight retention and great penetration. I like a do it all bullet with a good bc and can penetrate good on a quartering away elk.

I like the Core-Lokt because it's the deadliest mushroom in the woods, its cheap, creates massive wounds channels, and gets the job done!

That should be, pointed on one end and boattailed on the other. weight retention, reliable expansion and accuracy...Barnes TTSX.
Hornady GMX work best for me, on everything from antelope to elk.

I like different bullets for different jobs. I like high BC like Berger, I like a bullet to spread out and do a lot of damage like Berger if my grandson is going to shoot a bear without back up. Bergers do work exactly as advertised. I also use Berger for long range. I shot my 180.5 mule deer with Berger this year. My Browning likes them.
Shooting elk or deer in the Remington its like dhersberger says about the Remington Core-Lokt. They are the bargain for factory bullets IMO. If its not long range then its Remington Core-Lokt. Hornady Amax is doing an awesome job for me in the 22-250. I shoot them at 3717 for the 52 gr. My rate of twist wont let me get much heavier and I really doubt it needs to be.

I want a high BC bullet that shoots accurately, and kills game of all sizes.

Some kill through weight retention. Some kill through fragmentation. They need to penetrate enough to get to the goods, and I don't care one way or another if they come out the other side.

I have had good luck with both styles.

Modern hunting bullets are all so good, I end up getting the highest BC bullet I can that shoots from my rifle.

I love Nosler Accubonds, and want to work up a load with Bergers.

I like bullets that will retain weight with decent BC. The bullet I've chosen to load for most of my rifles is the Nosler Accubond. I really like to shoot TTSX if I'm shooting over 3500fps and around 2800 I'm not all that picky.
