Quick points question from the newbie

This is probably a dumb question but if I apply for an "any antelope" tag and pick an individual unit as my first choice, can I also do a first choice for doe/fawn antelope tag?

If so, and I were to get my 2nd choice "any antelope tag" and my first choice doe/fawn tag, would that eliminate my antelope preference points? Or does the doe/fawn draw not have an effect on the points? Thank you!

The Doe/fawn reduced price tags are separate and points do not apply to them.

Z, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I have a question along those same lines and couldn't see starting another thread ...

I've been reading about the WY preference point system on here and in EBJ, and after reading all the posts here I am interested in storing up a few for sheep myself, and I assume it is the same for all species? Am I understanding correctly that:

You have to buy them and only at one per year?

Once you apply they are not used, but carry over to the next year, unless you draw?

And the max is 5 for any given species?

Thanks from another, albeit old, Noob!

Your right, you can only buy 1 point a year. Each species is a different cost. Sheep points are $100.00 There are no max to points, they go up every year. They started points for deer, antelope, and elk 6 years ago, I believe, so the max is 6 points now. Sheep are somewhere around 17-18 points now. If you are looking to draw in the next 30-40 years you'll be ok.
