Starting to build up preference for myself and the wife, which states?

In your opinion what states should I start building preference for? Currently I put in for CO and WY as well as SD where I live.

Also which state should I put my wife in for to hunt down the road? She does not have preference in any state except SD.. We are talking about hunting 5-10 years from now. Probably only two states.

    Thanks in advanced.

Always apply for NM, no points so it's luck of the draw.
AZ late season and you will hunt there every 5 years.

I would say it depends on what type of terrain you want to hunt as well. Also, if you will be hunting from a camp packed in or from a town. If you hunt with a bow, you can typically hunt sooner/more often than with a rifle. Colorado and Utah have OTC bull tags though some of the units can be tough to hunt or overcrowded with hunters. I agree with Wapiti about NM. There are several units you can shoot a quality bull in with pretty decent draw odds.

Nice to see another SD resident on the forum, welcome!
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.
