Its still in the worx just waiting for a set of tally lightweight rings to mount the vortex scope. Once the scope is on that will be the deciding factor. Keep it a .264 or go the .284 or creedmore route.

My dad gave me his 264 in pre 64 Winchester. Love the old bugger, but the 26" stainless barrel wasn't very handy on my one and only dall sheep hunt. I also have a 270 WSM. I like it too.

    Nothing wrong with either cartridge.

Doesn't the .264win.mag require something in the 24-26" barrel range?
    Don't forget about the 6.5-284norma

Personally I'd rather have a rifle in the 22-24" barrel range.

I keep reading about guys wanting a .264 weatherby mag. something to keep an eye out for?

Mine may be the sporty model. I believe the barrel is a 22". Once I get it back from cerakote I want to research more on the numbers.

    Looks really nice!

Do you know what bullet you want to try? Especially with the shorter barrel I'd be on the lookout for the new 129gr Accubond Longrange to keep velocity up. They have been awful hard to find, might want to have them waiting for the rifle to arrive. As I said earlier, the 140gr accubond or Berger have performed real well for me too.

We ended up shooting close to a hundred rounds trying to find a good load. Ended up with 130's. this is a 5 shot group @200 yards w/15 mph crosswinds. Click image for larger version.

I'm familiar with .257 weatherby and didn't realize folks were wildcatting the cartridge by necking it up to a .264. Learn something all the time.
