I know I'll probably never get a lower 48 big horn tag and I don't think the Dall would be a bad conciliation prize at all. Anyone have any experience good or bad with outfitters in Alaska?
In my opinion there is only 1 guy to consider- Braun Kopsack Knik Glacier Adventures. Just make sure you go in the best shape of your life

make sure you ask questions about the actual guide. Does the outfitter have guides that come back every year. Have the packers packed before?
The reason i say this is, I went to alaska and had more time in the mountains of alaska than the guide did. The packer had never worn a full size pack before. We ran out of food, but i did get my ram. I guess i should have sheep hunted when i lived up there.

If I was looking for a good quality dall hunt today for as low a cost as possible, I would give Atchenson's - Hunting Consultants, in Butte, Montana a call. Discuss your financial situation and perhaps get on their cancellation list.

Here is a picture of my 10-year old stone ram taken near Muncho Lake, B.C. in September, 1973. I am very happy I bit the bullet and paid the price back then.

    Beautiful ram!

Call Wayne Kubat in AK. He an honest hard working man. http://www.alaskaremote.com/index.htm

You might want to try these folks too http://deltana.com/. They are known for excellent sheep hunts. Ask them if Billy Molls is still guiding for them. He's a hell of a sheep hunter. Here's Billy's site. http://www.billymollsadventures.com/

Billy Molls is the real deal when it comes to Dall Sheep. Deltana, on the other hand, not so much. Billy worked for them, and gave them a great rep. They use a variety of guides however, some good, and some way below average. Unless you know who you are going with, exercise caution.

Hunt never happened. Flew into Pioneer Outfitters lodge and the crew wasn't there. Flew out 6 days later and the crew still wasn't there. Talk about being ripped off.

My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
