    Too bad MM,

We didn't see the number of elk we normally see last weekend either. We did kick up a couple of small bulls though, and my buddy tagged one, so not a bad first week.

I almost puked when I read that, TS.

MT has 6 weeks of archery and 5 weeks of general in the normal districts. Longer in some.
Welcome to our world. You can hunt second season and get 9 days, but the elk are running non-stop by then.

Its all good. I got what I wanted out of it. Time alone in the mountains and scouting for drawing an any bull tag some year! The general tag I had this year is spike only. Im not complaining about filling my deer and antelope tags this year and last on the first day I hunted but honestly it was nice to stay out a few days this time! Honestly I have never come home so happy with tag soup From what I saw though Im not so sure the bull tag is worth the line you have to wait in to get it other then its close to home and dont cost much as a resident. Im going to keep trying a different area each year with the general tag and hopefully I have something figured out about the area by the time I draw

You know you had a bad day at work when, the best part of the day is when you have a break, to go get a root canal...
