Cam Hanes took a great buck in the Rubies with a bow a few years back. It was on the Eastmans show. He was way above the buck and dropped the arrow in thru the back and rite out the chest. Did you see that episode?

You'll have plenty of opportunities at a buck. Last year, on the east side I had cell coverage,,,,,,,,up top.

Thanks guys for the encouragement! I didn't see the Cam Hanes thing. I had never even heard of the ruby mts until I started looking into applying in Nevada this year. I just made up my mind to hunt Nevada one way or another this year! I have a lot of resources for info, this forum included...based on the reading and advice from friends and family, I think I'll have a really good time on this hunt, kill or no kill.

Many parts of the Rubys do not have cell coverage. But as stated above, the East side usually does. I use the SPOT system. fatrascal.

If that area doesn't have good cell service then buy the new delorme inreach. I got picked earlier this year to do a trial run with it and it's amazing. I was able to email and text my wife while I was turkey hunting deep into the Colorado mountains. Also it's got a SOS in case of an emergence. It also has a bunch of other features. It's a must have for a solo hunter like my self. The service is $10 a month. I look at like having life insurance and carrying a pistol. It's priceless when you need it.
