Last day of the season! I know he's not a monster to some of ya'll but he's a nice deer for southeast Alabama. I was really proud because I had been hunting him over a month and he finally made his first mistake with about 5 minutes of the season left. Thank you estrous doe!

19 and 7/8. That was the day after he was killed so probably some shrinkage after drying.

Congratulations. A monster deer is relative to the area you hunt. I'd say for Alabama that's a great buck, and even more special being it was a specific deer you were hunting.

He would be in trouble if he cruised past my tree stand. Nice buck!

The season is bow only Oct 15 until 3rd Saturday in Nov. Then gun season opens and runs to Jan 31st. We don't have tags but we do have a 3 buck limit in all combined seasons. It has been an unenforceable "honor system" law until this coming season. We now have a mandatory call in check system. Hopefully it will help get our yearling buck harvest down so we can have more deer like this.

Hopefully folks won't have wife and kids calling in claiming deer. He's a heckuva buck and looks wider than he measures. Our area went to a 13" and/or a spike rule (or 3 13" deer if you hunt 3 different counties) b/c people were complaining about not seeing bucks...it's getting a ton of yearling spikes killed in the name of mgmt.
