    Unit 64 Cow Elk

Hopeing I could get some thoughts on a Unit 64 Cow Elk tag. I have never hunted up in the Cody area before. Have an antelope and mule deer tag in a different portion of the the state and just was looking to possibly tag out on a cow before returning to Ohio. Could be there around the 15th of November and was hopeing there would be enough snow to possibly drive them from the high country. In researching the unit, I see there are two fairly large Hunter Management Areas. Owl Creek and a part of Absaroka. Anyone have any thoughts on those areas. I have called the Cody office to inquire about any ranches that allow any trespass hunts but they only gave me one phone number to call and that really didnt pan out. If anyone would have any suggestions, I would appreciate it very much.

Hunted it last year in mid Dec. Hardly any snow and the elk were up high on those 9-10,000ft ridges. We shot 2 elk out of the four of us. two of my friends were out of shape and that really hurt them. We never saw any elk by any of the roads. Be prepared to walk, climb and pack. We saw lots of elk in a week of hunting but most were out or reach. Good luck
