Wyoming Red Desert elk 100/ 102 deer

Wondering if anyone has information they would like to share on area 100-1 elk and 102-1 deer. Drew both of them this year. I drew 100-1 elk last year. Just looking for a little more info on both. I spent alot of time in the red desert last year but only found a few decent bulls. Been trying to scout but work is interfering. Thanks

If you drew a 100 elk tag 2 years in a row, you must be a Wyo resident!!! Impossible for a NR to do!

Is this forum only for non residents???? Obviously I'm a resident. Just doing some homework and seeing if anyone has additional info to add to mine is all.

My sister drew that tag too, I work with some people from green river/rock springs... maybe we could help each other out. PM me if you want.

Not so, Wyoming residents don't have preference points for elk or deer. Check the draw results, non-residents with the max points have much better odds. It seems Basscat25 is one LUCKY bugger!

I don't know how you figure that! The only NR's that draw this tag are the ones with MAX points period! Once you've used those points you probably will never be able to draw it again (or any other unit that requires max points for that matter) on your lifetime. You start all over again in the points chase and probably will never again have max points credited to you.

Residents (if they are lucky enough) could draw this or any other high demand unit several years in a row. Straight lottery....no points. yes he is one of those lucky ones.

I just went and checked the 2013 stats.....yes the odds are better for NR's, but like I said...draw once period.

    Residents........90 tags....2802 applicants = .032%
    NonResidents..regular draw..12 tags.....115 apps w/max pts. = .10%
    " " ..special draw..9 tags.....60 apps w/max pts = 15%

Going into the 2013 draw the max points a NR could have was 7 for deer, elk or antelope.
