It's drying up, bring on fall!

Brought the pup out for a run tonight. We threw the ball, ran a lot, took a big dump on the baseball field, and hit the creek for a swim. NO CREEK! Click image for larger version.

And landed in your own utopia? If/ when I do leave Ka, and I will leave, I'll make sure I stay away from "conservative" Colorado.

I was simply speaking of the drought were having, not the fudded up political climate in Ca, Co, or any other state. Just a man who took his dog for a walk.

SW Colorado.....leaving out the politics!!! Been up in the high country several time in the last couple of weeks. While everything looks pretty green from lots of recent monsoon rains, it is still really dry here. Lots of the small tanks used for cattle water are dry and some of the streams are too. (not running, just pools here & there). I know several ranchers who have grazing rights in the NF that have been hauling water for their cows most of the summer. I'll be in Lake City in a week for some fishing and relaxing, like to see what it looks like there and in Gunnison and Crede.

Its rained almost everyday for the last 2 weeks here at my place.

I was talking about the weather. However, hunting and fishing still leaves Ca in the dust. (pun intended) Politics hasn't affected me one bit here.

From the sounds of it, Co has seen some good rainfall in the high country. I just spent 4 days up in the high country scouting for deer and doing some fishing, it was really lush, a far cry from the valley (the hell hole). The lake is located at 7500', about summit level, and we had rain on 1 evening. I did get into some deer, and with the help of google earth, located a spring in the backcountry with plenty of sign. The high country lakes are still at capacity, and the smell of fall is in the air. Can't wait for the leaves to turn.
As for the valley of hell and their politics, they can have it, I'm no flatlander. I live in the foothills between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe at 3500", and have the opportunity to wet a line any day of the week. I hear plenty about our water wars, and am terrified as to the repercussions of our elected officials sending our water south to LA to feed the desert.

Here's a pic of the lake I will use as my base camp.

Pikes Peak was a little white this morning. Mostly hail I would guess. Nights are getting a little cooler but the days are still hot here on the front range. I guess some people would consider it a hell hole over here!
