3rd Season Rifle OTC Elk advices needed

I'm thinking about trying a 3rd rifle season OTC elk hunt in CO this Nov. I'm new to hunting out west and this will probably be my only chance at hunting Elk this year. I'm just curious to hear what people know about hunting elk in the 3rd season. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Never hunted OTC Colorado Elk, but expect to see some orange vest's hanging around most any OTC hunt. If you hunt hard and are a little lucky you should have an opportunity at a bull. What area are you thinking about going? I've had some friends hunt south of Baggs, Wyoming and have done well. Good Luck!

I was there last year and it was bad.I hunted GMU 62 and the weather killed us,,,HOT.Instead of merino wool I was wishing I had a swimming suit.
Anyway it was tough. It was perfect for moving around and seeing the whole unit, which is what I did.
If we get some weather I'd say go for it,,but without Tough

    Just as stated....weather, weather......

These animals have been pushed hard for 3 seasons, since the first week of September.

I've never been tempted to get an OTC tag.

Snow. 2 to 4 inches is just right. All the tracks are fresh and it could get them moving.

I don't think that little snow will get bulls in 3rd season moving. Maybe the cows.
