Has anyone tried the Outdoor Edge Swing Blade.

I like the idea of the flat style gut blade. Also, it looks like you could run it under an elk hide to start skinning for gutless method of dressing.

    Any feedback?

+1 for Cutco. I have had mine for 3 years I believe, and it has handled several deer and elk, from gutting in the field to processing at home this knife has never been sharpened and still has a sharp edge. The soft-feel rubber handle is very easy to grip and fits in my hand nicely.

I love my Swing Blade, does really well on all animals with the exception to the neck of an elk. Always seem to have a little bit of an issue getting the blade under the thickness of the neck.

I have not used the swing blade. I have the Outdoor Edge Kodi Pack. Has the saw, caper, and gut knife. I love it. Also just started using the Havalon Piranta. Great knife. Has the disposable blades. I did my elk and my buddies on one blade before changing them out.

I absolutely love my Havalon.....the blades to break until you get used to handling the knife. Once you learn to let the knife do the work its a whole lot less of an issue. They WILL cut the holy hell out of you, trust me!!

Don't buy their blades. You can get them a lot cheaper than they sell them for. And they are the same thing.

Cobbhunts, you are right about them being sharp. I barely had it out of the package before I cut myself. Thanks for the heads up on getting the blades cheaper.
