What's your favorite bullets in what calibers?

I use nothing but Nosler bullets but know there are a lot of really good bullets out there. Here are some of my favorites! What do you guys use and like?

6mm Remington: 100 gr. Nosler Partition, Will try the Nosler 90 gr. Accubonds if I can ever find some on the shelves. My son's 6mm uses the 90 gr. E-tip and I've sure been impressed with that bullet. He's taken a couple antelope, and nice mule deer buck, and this year a really nice cow elk at 350 yards with one shot! I have shot one spike bull with my 6mm and the Partition bullet, again one shot. Lots of deer and antelope with this one.

25-06: 120 gr. Nosler Partition but I'm going to play with the new 110 gr. Accubond as I think it's a great bullet and is really a flat shooter. Several deer and antelope with the 25-06 & the Partition plus one spike bull.

280 Remington: 140 gr. Accubond or Partition Deer, antelope, elk all with the 140 gr. Partition. I made a mistake and sold that rifle and need to get another 280 really badly!

30-06: 165 gr. Accubond or Partition Lots of deer, antelope, elk, and a black bear.

I really like the consistent performance of Accubonds, and killed my biggest bull with a 200 grainer, but I am currently hunting with 140 gr. Barnes TTSX in a 7-08, and 185 Berger VLD Hunting in a 300 RUM. I was very impressed with the Berger this past season on my bull. It also has a nice high ballistic coefficient of .549. Barnes have also worked every time for me, and are super accurate out of my Remington Model 7.

That little 7-08 is a lot better killer than it's size would indicate isn't it!

Were you able to recover a Berger as I was wondering how they hold together and mushroom? That 300 RUM is quite a cartridge (cannon), but from what I've read on it, it is also very accurate.

Yeah that 7-08 will knock em down just fine ... elk included. I did not recover the Berger. It punched an entrance hole, obliterated the lungs, and punched an exit hole. Meat damage was minimal. It was shockingly good performance. I was a little wary of hunting with a target-style bullet, but spoke to enough people that had actually used them to be confident. I've heard people that have never used them that they are "explosive" and "fragile," but that was not my experience. There are two lines of Berger VLD bullets, and one is marked "VLD-Hunting." They look the same, but are constructed differently. I will try to find a link to the John Barsness test article on Bergers for hunting. They had great results on over 200 animals. That is a good track record. They worked for me.

17 HMR with 17gr Hornady V-Max --- dime size groups at 200 only with that bullet for me. Anything else is way off.
7 Mag with 160gr Winchester Supreme Accubonds --- quarter size groups at 300
.338 Win Mag with 250gr BVAC Grand Slams --- I use this open sight gun during bear season.

100 gr. sierra matchking in 25-06, pronghorn,deer,prairie dogs, coyotes.
100 gr. nosler ballistic tip in 25-06, my number 1, awesome pronghorn cartridge and works just fine for deer.
130 gr. berger VLD hunting in .264 win mag. Have only shot a couple deer with it but, it will put them on the ground. I've used 120 gr. nosler ballistic tips in it also and killed a couple deer with them, to be honest I don't think you can tell the difference. I plan on using it for big game this year.
130 gr. sierra btsp in 270 WSM, works well on deer.
52 gr. hornady bthp in .223, coyotes, prairie dogs
55 gr. nosler ballistic tip in 22-250 and 220 swift, prairie dogs, coyotes

I use Nosler Partition almost exclusively. 300 Win Mag, 30 06, but have used the sierra boattail.

Berger match grade VLD 168gr in 7mm, my favorite. BC is 617.

Barnes Tipped TSX bullets in any caliber, but I use a 180 in my 300 Win.
