Nice buck, hate to see animals end up suffering.
A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work.
Shoot the best, Shoot PSE!
Am I the only one that thinks that buck looks about the size of a mouse next to those corn stalks?
Talk about holding tight in a corn field.......I have killed fawns cutting hay a few times but this 1 really surprises me.
I really cant believe anything over maybe a year old would not get the heck out of the way! I have got fairly close to some on farm equipment before but never seen anything like that.
Thats one hell of away to fill your tag
Trying like hell to live the dream
I've heard of this happening every year here in the midwest. I'm still not really sure why it happens, but its always out at the end of the head. I just think these deer can hear the engine and move to what they think is a safe distance, but the size of the heads these days, the deer can be 20 foot from the combine and still get caught in the head. The deer will usually only run 6-8 rows away from danger in a corn field because you can't see that far in. It sure is a shame that a deer that size gets caught in the corn head, but I'll be honest I've never seen pictures of small deer caught in a corn head. Its almost always bigger deer for whatever reason (maybe the small deer aren't press worthy).
Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.
