Yes Sir the John Day tag,one of the best in Oregon in my opinion

I used to be part of a helicopter capture team and net gunned sheep for relocation many times in the canyons of the John Day and Deschutes River's. Most captures took place in January and February because of cold temperatures to help reduce stress. The thing I noticed was the green feed everywhere that was available to the sheep. Milder winters and green forage year round contributes to big horns! We did captures in the Steens, Hart Mountain, Aldrich and McCellaan Mountains and the Owyhees and by far the biggest rams and best feed was the lower John Day and Deschutes rivers.

Which tag have you been applying for lately?

Uaually I put in for the John Day hunt. Sometimes I mix it up and look over the regs real close and put in for an area that had a lot of people appling for the previous year. Most folks avoid those areas the following year so the odds increase a little....not that it has helped me. I've got 11 Wyoming sheep points, wished Oregon gave sheep PP, I would be looking at 42 points!
