    Does cold weather help when calling coyotes?

    Yes. Also the snow helps a bunch. Makes hunting mice and other food for the dogs more difficult to find so they are more hungry and more likely to come to distress calls.

    Ikic is right. Once the ground freezes most bugs are gone. Digging is almost impossible. Calling heats up. Snow on the ground is like icing on cake. And a whole lot easier to see those smart ones sneaking in. Best of luck

    The hungrier they are the easier they are to get! Even if your not calling you will see them out more when they are hungry.

    I like calling the pups in the late spring or early summer as well. We have has 3 and 4 come racing in at the same time which I'm sure you could imagine gets a little hectic picking which to shoot at.

    Thanks everyone... we just had(are having) a big snow storm right now with low low temps so this weekend we will see what happens!

    Took this one today after the first snow storm of the year. A double came into young jack rabbit is distress call. This was a male.
