I use both HF & EJ, but as you mention, avoid the top 5 choices in almost all instances, even though I am in or near the top point pools. I kind of like some benefits of HF. I have found several grossly underated units in some states that are totally unrated by HF. Love these flyin off the radar. Hope they stay that way.

Yea, I guess a hundred bucks wasn't enough for a magazine subscription with nice glossy pictures.....

It's still a good subscription . IMO I just wouldn't pay the extra to upgrade. I don't think it's worth it.

It's a good publication but this new structure is a joke. Only reason I am keeping it is to know what units to avoid due to them pumping them up.

Can you get the magazine without subscribing? I never can find it anywhere and $100 for just a magazine is to much to me since I have no intention of using their app service.

Their app service is not included in the $100 subscription for the magazine. You have to get the subscription to receive magazines.

They send me adds once in a while. Sounded to me like the app service came with it for $100. I assumed you would pay something more for each app they put in for you. Maybe I didnt understand it. $100 for a magazine is alot I think. I would buy a copy to check out their magazine but I have never seen it on a stand anywhere.

I have been a huntin fool member off & on since 1996. When it first started out it was a letter printed on a letter head of cotton paper that was maybe 15 pages each month. Garth has grown quit substantively. I just got tired of him & his kid using it as a bragging board to show the rest of us if ya got $5000 or so to apply for tags at your disposal this could be you. Or if you want to spend $6500 or more for a land owner voucher you can kill what I kill. It can be a great tool though being he has a large audience that post stories of some quality critters. That is if you have points built up in some western states. I give members advice on units I've hunted in the past, even though I have not been a member for the last 5 years or so.
