One view of Color Country Outfitters website may shed some light for you. Many of those photos are the same bucks.

I scout it (public land) at least every other year........there's some decent bucks on the public land.....nothing like it was 10 years ago.....and definitely not "a good number of 200" deer running" around. That is, until I got an invite to photograph some deer on private property owned by the Houston's which borders the Heaton Ranch. Saw some gorgeous bucks then.

I've hunted mule deer in Southern Utah for close to 30 years. Utah has huge deer. It might just be that the biggest bucks I've seen were in Southern Utah. I've hunted them in Wyoming, Colorado, and Idaho.

There are a few miles adjacent to Hwy 12 near Red Canyon indian Store where a lucky driver might see HUGE bucks.

I've tried to get into Paunsaugunt before Utah's bonus point system. Now I'm holding out for Henrys. The way trophy mule deer hunting has shaped up, we all might have but one chance for a B&C record book buck. While other states have great B&C potential bucks, from where I see it, Utah offers the best shot. Utah is committed to regaining its once famed big deer hunting. Utah has excellent mineral content in its soil that helps bucks grown huge racks.

If Utah can transfer its excellent trophy elk results to trophy bucks, we ought to see many more huge bucks taken every year.
