It got points dumped...some of those same folks in our group are sitting back in the 20-22pt pool for deer though with no intention of using them until units stabilize and 4th seasons open back up.
I say if you have more than 5 or more points now then you should be eligible to keep building and put in for one of the upper tier units. If you are less then 5 points now you can only build up to 5 points and then everyone stays at 5 until they draw, everyone with 5 has the same chance for a given unit. The guys that have more will start to dwindle and eventually the max number of points it will take to get a tag is 5. Until the guys with more then 5 are gone whatever is left from the units that take more then 5 after they run the names through will be available to guys part of the max 5 points group. The way they have it set up now for guys with 5 or more but not max needed is a joke, 2-3% drawing odds, they did that as a band aid until they can figure out an actual solution.

A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work.
Shoot the best, Shoot PSE!
Prob is there's really no solution when trying to please everyone. A 5yr wait for 5pts, then additional wait time wont appeal to those who feel entitled to have some odds to hunt quality units every year under a lottery style draw with no weighted entries.
Could someone explain point banking and what CO did last time around? Packmule you were talking about some of your friends are back in the 20-22 pt range. When did this occur and is it likely to happen again? I'm only 1 point in for elk, deer, sheep, and mountain goat. Should I stay away from CO?
I'm also the proud owner of a 2013 non resident fishing license which I will never use.
They could double all their prices. Then guys like me would get mad, stop applying, let their points expire, and never go there again. lol
Alabama, about how many points do the units your wanting to hunt take to draw?
