The regs are online now. I posted the link in 1 of my earlier posts. BKC, to avoid paying for the points you have to have had a hunting or fishing license the year before. Really this isnt any different then alot of other states, its just new and I think we all get a little wound up any time the price changes or a new fee is added.

That's true, it's not new. Which is why I don't understand how Colorado is following Wyoming. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't they be more like Utah? Doesn't Utah charge a $65 license regardless of whether you're applying or just buying a point? Could be a lot worse though I suppose. Again, I'm not an expert on this but I think Idaho, Nevada and Arizona all charge a $150-160 non-refundable license no matter what. Sure, Wyoming will probably increase their fees but at least you don't have to buy any extra crap you don't need (for now).

You are correct on those states making you buy a license just to apply. I think it was compared to WY because the prices of the points are similar and Im not sure that any other states actually charge you for a point but they still have an application fee usually around $15.

I got my Brochure yesterday in the mail! I am pretty sure applying to a high point area will not make you exempt from paying the point fee. Only a 2013 big game license or a Small game or fish license from 2013 or fur bearer!!

I see the Big Game is online, but went all over town today looking for the actual print copy....No luck! Did do my sheep app today though as it is pretty simple.

So if you buy points for deer, elk and antelope, do you have 2 options? 1. Pay $40 for each point which will cost $120. 2. Buy the fishing license for $56 and then you don't have to pay a preference point fee so it will just be $56??????

That is correct ND. You have to buy the fishing license before they expire on 3/31 so it is from the previous year.

So after reading my 2014 Big Game brochure it's safe to say that since I had a 2013 elk and deer license. I do not have to pay the fee for a preference point?
