Sure is lots of chatter about points systems and whether or not it's worth it anymore. Seems like lots of guy's are seeing the writing on the wall and getting out. It also seems like for every guy that gets out there's five more that start building points. This is evident when you look at the number of applicants increasing drastically the last few years. I'm just as guilty though. Just gave Utah $155 to apply for all species! If I could ever draw Elk and maybe deer and antelope just once I'll probably be out for good too.
Utah crushed the hopes of non-residents ever drawing a once in a lifetime tag in 2008 or 2009 (can't remember which off the top of my head). It went from being able to apply for 1 species to all of them (Desert BH, Rocky BH, Mt Goat, Moose and Bison). Now almost everyone applies for all of them because it's only $10 per species. This has destroyed the drawing odds. I hate to say it but I wish they would go to $50 per species and only let you pick 1. The odds would still be bad but not nearly impossible like now.
