    I wouldnt really worry about rattlers out there in Oct. Just keep an eye out for them. I did kill 1 this year in early Oct.

    i usually pick up a left over tag for 24 and do some hunting around the gillette campbell county area i like my kenetreks but for bow season last yr antelope hunting i picked up a pair of underarmour speed freaks they worked really good for the warm days and are super light. Never seen a snake south of gillette but have run into a half dozen or so north of gillette by the powder river.

    and your right we had a big snowstorm last yr for opener of deer and antelope gaitors and a good boot were needed.
