    I'm really hoping that bull isn't 280
I'm sticking to my original thoughts (basically)
My original guess 329.5, I'll ask for up to 10" less but less that 319...... come on man?

Thanks for the clarification Velvetfvr....... your right it's all good.
If I'm within 25" I'd be happy and surprised
You were 4.5" off bro. I was 4" off. Not to shabby.

Velvetfvr: I'll take that anyway and even better that I under estimated a bit.

No offense taken... It was a crappy angle in the picture to guess the score but that was really my intention. It is fun to see all the different opinions.

Since I drew a great tag for this season, I have been really doing more score guessing so I am up to speed for my hunt. My goal is to set a 330 minimum for the hunt as the land I'm hunting consistently produces much larger bulls. The difficult part for me is that I look at some 350ish bulls that just don't have the eye appeal that some 300ish bulls have. I have never been a guy that measures inches before I pull the trigger so being patient will be my challenge...

Same for me Hilltop. It is really about finding something with character and not just numbers. Thanks for the friendly competition that was cool and actually a pretty good exercise.

These two are experienced Wildlife and Fisheries Biology graduates but not official scorers. That's my disclaimer...lol. I believe the score to be very accurate.

    Main beams- 87"
    Mass-57"
    Inside Spread- 38"
    Total Tines-152"

    Total before deductions- 334

This bull gains a huge portion of his score in his fronts which makes it very deceiving to many experienced guys. If he had the "base 200" frame he would have gone 350! IMO, bulls like this are the hardest to judge. The short main beams are consistent with the area that this bull was shot. Southern half of Area 7- We have only two bulls through the years with 50"+ main beams from this ranch.

Thanks to everyone for guessing and hope you enjoyed it.

    Boooooom Friend!

VF not to bad for an uneducated guess! Hahahah JK

if anyone was curious how I came to that score I GUESSED... I was going to guess 320 but I have recently been learning about much fronts help on the score, so I bumped it to 330, but 333 just sounded nice.... Either way, If I can judge a bull within 20 points in the field that's good enough for me!

I was going to guess 320-330. Until I started reading other posts and I was way high! I didn't want to show my ignorance in elk scoring. Turns out I would have been lucky.

Thats for sure! lol Im not all that good at judging bulls but was having trouble getting much over 280 because the beams looked kinda short and I would always rather estimate low and be pleasantly surprised when they are bigger! Maybe the 2 280 bulls I saw in Idaho a few years ago were really 335 too
